Thanks for the info Kevin.  Taking on that little bugger will probably be an exercise in frustration..............but I'm tempted for some reason.  It's a handy feeling little stinker, and is in such good shape (on the outside anyways)...

I've pulled some IPL's from the Husqvarna site as well.  Lots of changed part #'s.   One thing that I found interesting is  that the saw in question has the oval foam air filter setup (as seen in some earlier non-CA 335XPT IPL's).  All of the CA IPL's that I've seen so far show the later pleated paper/plastic filter.  This saw clearly has the "338XPT California" badging on the starter cover.
