346 353 drums rims etc
« on: June 03, 2013, 09:34:09 pm »
Just showing you guys the set up for running the standard rims on the 346 etc saws.  That way if you wanted to run 3/8 8T 9T or .325 9T for some unknown reason you could. Otherwise it is small rim set up like on left.

Notice how lucky I got on the 346 set on right. Was running it with a missing bearing and noticed nothing odd.

Thanks for the info, but I see no reason to run anything larger than .325x8 or 3/8x7 on the 346xp - so no need for the standard (large) 7-spline drum.  ;)

I agree with Niko, if I modified my 346XP enough to pull a 8 pin 3/8 or .325 9pin with authority............then I would have to keep on modifying and install a larger fuel tank and enlarged oil tank.
But for the cookie cutter / get together saw the stock fuel and oil tank would do. :D ;D

Do you have any part numbers ?

Just look up the IPLs on the Husky website, under "Support". It is really simple, and the "Library" goes back to about 1972.....

Thanks for the info Kevin.  If converting a 350 from spur type to rim drive, is a replacement oil pump drive gear needed (as with the 357/359)?  I've yet to pull the clutch off of any of the saws in this series, but will do so soon if I keep the 350 I'm fixing rather than sell/trade it away (as I'll swap from a spur to a rim drive system if I keep it).
