Over the summer in my tree service  I've been putting some hours on the three 550s my timbersport sponsor gave me last Feb. Great little quick saws for a logger once they get warmed up, but for a stop and go tree service their a PITA.
All 3 take a while to warm up [too long when your at the chipper etc] even my 562 warms up a lot faster. So I decided to pull out the old 346NE and wear it out.

I think saws cost more where I am. Either that or the dealer is  not being to fair. He quoted me a price on a 562 xp pho for like 775. He has 550 for like 540. Maybe I just have not bought enough saws from him for him to help me out on the price.
The prices quoted here are from a very good dealer who moves a lot of saws. Lowest I've seen anywhere. I bought my 562 w/TechLite bar ($100 bar) for $680 from him.

My local dealer is priced about like you said above.

husdons still has one 346 left. they want $699 for it. they want $749 for a 545. the 562 is $899+ bar/chain ::)
your husky prices are far better than what the dealer can get them here for.

It's weird that  the stihl prices up there are on par with ours but the huskys are out of sight.   I wonder what the deal is.

they'll tell you it's tariffs and extra fuel costs. i'd say they're just being greedy.

That was indeed the last one.

Im still having an oiler issue with mine. Seems after even one cut in 12" ash, the oiler hole on the bar is plugged solid. Besides the bar having a slight flare in the rails at the tail, there is absolutely nothing obvious. I'm stumped. The inner bar plate isn't bent or dirty. Its not in mint condition, but there isn't anything that I can see that would interfere with the mating surface of the bar an the oil port? The saw oils with the bar removed and it oils after I clean the bar out. Make one cut and the show stops  :-\
Maybe try a new bar  ???

You think maybe there is a problem with the way the chain is sharpened, the rakers filed, or even the design of the chain?

I would try a different brand or type of chain?

I'm figuring the chips are balling and getting forced down into the rails?

Have you modded your bar oiler hole yet?  Using a oregon with that dang small angled hole?
