Have you checked that your bar oiler hole is lined up with crankcase pad oiler when all together and adjusted?  Try it without the bar cover on.
I bought the saw from Neal Murphy last spring. That is the bar he shipped with the saw. I have used that for over a year with no issues.

there is a oil tank vent under the silver cover you have to pull the clutch and some screws to access. when you unscrew the oil cap does there sound or feel like any pressure is there. maybe like cut says oil hole in the bar is not lined up.
The saw oils fine guys, it oils like the BP Deepwater Horizon......... Its not an oiler issue. I ordered a new inner bar plate today for $5 and picked up a new 16" Husky bar for $28 during my lunch break.

I should be able to let you know this weekend. The bar is in my truck now, I should have the bar plate on Weds or Thurs. I'll try to install the bar plate on Friday or Saturday and make a few cuts on Sunday AM. I'm curious too. I'd like to try it sooner, but family comes first.

So what do you think was happening to not be getting oil to old bar and chain when in use?

Think it was a combination of a dented bar plate and flared rails at the tail of the bar.

Having been around a lot of older chainsaws and ones that have been resurrected from the basket, The bar plate is one of the more neglected parts of the chainsaw often because from chains jumping off in years past.

I noticed something to keep in mind from reading this thread and that is the flaring of the rails at the tail end of the bar. I know this problem exists on a old, well used, bar but never gave oil loss at the location of the oiler a thought or even made the connection.

For some reason it gave the drive links a little more clearance to drive chips into the bar groove..........that's my only explanation at least?
