I had to "bite the bullet" and took the 346xp to a more qualified mechanic than myself.
Found him on CL. He is only a mile or so away from me.
Does a bit of dirt track racing and fixes cars/trucks/yard/lawn equipment on the side.
Figured I would give him a try. What is the worst that could happen?... do not answer that!
He got it running. Only part he changed was the spark plug, but he said that was not really necessary.
I should keep the old plug as a backup.
He checked the fuel lines. Said they were good and clean.
He said that he "cleaned" the flywheel area and "cleaned" the clutch area and cleaned the air filter.
He said that the carb was a "gummed up", but I can tell he never removed the carb from the unit, so not sure what he might have done
to un-gum it. Carb cleaner spray maybe, DNK.
Anyway he got it running and charged me a reasonable price.
I brought it home and re-adjusted the carb settings and it is running good.
If I had taken it to our local Stihl/Husky dealer it would have been gone for at least 2-weeks.
I took a broken 28" chain to them 8 days ago to be put back together and I still have not heard from them.
