Hey fellas ive got a couple quest. is the 359 a pro saw or is it like the ranch saw. and how old are they now . is it a quality saw. whats the any negative points on this saw . thank you.

The 359 is not a "XP" or pro model but many parts are interchangeable with the 357XP which is a pro model.

660 is correct in what he says. Some of my customers would rather have a ported 359 than a 357XP. IMHO it is a matter of use, if you are a home owner who uses the saw bucking up a couple of face cords for ambiance during the winter months then you are probably fine with a 359 or one that his been ported. However if you feed your family running a saw 8 hours a day you might want to consider the 357.

Thank you just looking to add a second saw back up or whatever. looks like low hr. saw. very clean. would you say around$250.00 would be tops in what its worth.

The 359 is not classified as a pro saw but it should be.  It shares everything with the 357 besides for the piston/cylinder and the crank stuffers.  A ported 359 will out cut a ported 357 any day.  They are a great saw with a good power to weight ratio, their anti vibe mounts work well and are strong enough to take abuse.

I just bought a used 359 this summer. I got two 20"bars, eight chains(this guy just bought new chains, said he was going to have them sharpened someday) a big orange box?, and the saw looked brand new. I paid $300.00 and sold the box. I took the muffler off and put a non cat and replace the intake clamp before I had problems. The piston and cylinder looked perfect. I have been using since and love it. I have never had a 60cc saw and can't believe how much more power it has. Good luck.

I agree w/srcarr52 ported 359 over ported 357.  359 is like 365 Special both are underrated.  I just sold ported 359 guy raves about it every time I see him.  Makes me wish I kept it.  Oh well I got 2 more and a 357 thats getting a ported 359 top end. 
No downside on 359 great saw.  Change intake boot clamp if it's plastic to metal clamp.  That is known problem area. The other one is auto-decomp valve.  If it has one put in reg one and plug@cylinder where hose hooks up.

359 is a pro saw, but not a XP. That's not official, but it is right.  ;D

The 357xp is a little zippier when both stock, but the 359 is the one if ported. I have both and they are keepers!
