Would you use the crank stuffers with the AM 47mm jug that has transfers like a 357XP (no 353/359 type port covers).....or would the non-stuffed crank be better with those? IIRC it's a Hyway 'big bore 357XP' cylinder that WEM sells...

My Big Dave Neiger ported 357 wasnt peaky at all IMO.  For 56.5cc saw I was impressed with it.  Had pop up and around 180psi if I remember right.  Also used oem intake gasket like I like to do.

I'm basing this information off a few Hyway 357 type transfer with 359 bore saws that I did.  I ported two almost identical, one had stuffers one didn't.  The stuffers one wanted to hold about 1k more in the cut but didn't have the torque of the other to be heavy handed.  These were both work saws and in my opinion need to have a forgiving power band to being over loaded.  I took the stuffers out and it had all the grunt I'd ever want.

When I put them together straight out of the box the stuffers one was a little better, more snap and a little higher RPM but it wasn't close to how they are after being ported.  Also the blue coil was faster here, before ignition timing was altered.

Here is a 2159 (no stuffers) with a ported 359 Hyway cylinder.
I have some other videos that I never uploaded to youtube, but this Jred was 1 second faster than the almost identically ported cylinder on a 357 bottom end (stuffers).

Just for fun here is a stock Hyway cylinder on 357 (stuffers), blue coil vs. stock 2159 OEM cylinder that wasn't in the best of shape.
