I have a nice stock 362 Special and it runs pretty good as is.

Well, I have determined that it needs about $80.00 in OEM parts, which is no big deal. I already have them on order from HVA. I think that putting it back as a 362 is probably the best bet, perhaps not but we will see. Might send the jug off to 3000FPS and let him grind a little on the jug!

I just had a thought, what if we made this a forum project saw. Where those members that wanted to participate could and those that want to watch the progress could do that also. The saw is apart now and will get new bearings and seals tomorrow.

It hardly is worth it to get it ported, if it is going to be sold?

I will muffler mod that baby for you though.

You are right Troll, I already have a pristine example of a 362! So, it will go back together as a stock 362, without base gasket and a MM. Thanks Roger, for the offer to do a MM but I already have a muffler done up that is just waiting for me to silver solder the thing up. Look for the saw here in the 'for sale' section in about a month. Parts for the saw will be slow in coming since HVA/US does not have stock on a few items the saw needs.

I guess I'll have to go back to customer work!

Are you going to put a late model side adjust bar cover on it?  If not I have a NOS front adj. cover I would give you if you want/need it.

Shep is a SUPER good guy, really knows his stuff. We go back to AS days when he told me to go here and blow off the AS jokers! There was once a guy from Finland on AS that was dying for a 262XP saw but they were banned in Finland some time in the past. So I sent him a saw, just for chits and grins. Have not been in contact with Mikko for quite some time. He makes those beautiful Finland design hunting knives.
