Looking through all my IPLs I cannot find where a Zama was ever used on a 362. All Walbros but I could be wrong. I think some of the last 365 SP saws may have had a Zama. What do you want for the 362 stuff you have left?

I have observed the same, no IPL lists the Zama for the 362xp.

Lots of IPLs show the Zama for the 365 though, and at least the earliest ones came with it. As I remember it, it is listed in later IPLs as well though, with the Walbro listed inbetween.

Edit, couldn't resist looking up the 365 IPLs;

1996-09 Zama
1997-12 Zama
1999-04 Zama
1999-11 Zama (first Special)
2002-01 Walbro
2003-11 Both (Walbro = EPA)
2005-05 Both (Walbro = EPA/EU)
2007-03 Both (Walbro = EPA/EU)
2010-05 Walbro (HD-12 = EPA/EU, otherwise HD-6)

I have a 365 Special with a Zama. There is nothing about this saw that makes me think it is a Franking Saw. I believe it to be original as is.

I have a 362 with a Zama but it is a saw put together with parts from here and there. This Zama was on a 372XP I had but it also was put together with parts from various sources that now sports a HD-12B.

 ......

There is no reason it shouldn't be original - what is the serial number?

Btw, the 372xp never came with the Zama, only the 365/2065/2165 in that "family". ;)

OK here is current progress and pictures! Everything in the saw is OEM with the exception of three parts the modified muffler, the air filter and a new Caber ring.

Saw was completely disassembled cleaned and preped for
New Nachi 6202C3 24000 RPM Bearings
New seals
New case gaskets
New vitron pulse line
New OEM fuel line and filter
OEM cylinder and piston New Caber ring
Rebuilt Walbro HDA-12B carburetor
Still waiting on clutch side parts mainly the oil pump output line, throttle lock and spring, and the clutch cover. I have everything else but does not make sense to tear it back apart.

The muffler has not yet been silver soldered, had to get enough of the saw together to make sure the second port would not melt all kinds of plastic.

There is one cosmetic flaw, there is a fin broken out of the starter on the lower front side. Wasn't bad enough to replace the starter, also the decal would be stupid money and it does not fit the superseding part.

Should be a week or so, then look for the saw on the 'For Sale' board!

All required parts are to be delivered today. Saw should be mechanically complete by EOD, if all parts are correct. Then silver solder up the muffler mod and tune/test the saw, perhaps tomorrow. I have three customer saws to complete first. A Dolmar 7300 (rings), Pioneer P41 (new reeds, lines and carb rebuild) and a Solo to pack and ready for shipment.

Yeah Adam the saw was tired however the guy decided to do his own work, now the saw is sill tired but also broken! He evidently didn't get the ring situated or aligned properly with the locating pin before trying to force the cylinder on. Well he got it on but there is 0 compression and there are pieces of the ring in the bottom end and there is a chunk of piston in there too. Bottom line, cylinder is OK but he needs a new piston and ring! Good thing it had no compression otherwise he probably would have tried to start it!
