372 rings
« on: December 08, 2011, 07:39:03 pm »
Just trying to confirm.

503289042  372 ring is 50mm 1.5mm  ?  Was this the one used on the single ring piston.

503289036  372 ring is the 50mm 1.2mm one that is used on the 2 ring piston?

Getting all my numbers confused in my head now days.  :-[ :P

Yes. The 1.2 mm is the two EPA rings and 1.5 mm is the single ring. As long as your installing them in a OEM piston. Some after market pistons may vary. Like the NWP single ring piston uses the 1.2 mm.

I was just trying to make sure I had the right part numbers with right rings.   I almost ordered 8 of the 1.5mm and I wanted 1.2mm.

The caber rings are my favorite. Didn't know baileys sold them. I always got them from that Greek guy. There supposed to be better than OEM. I have not tried the NWP.

Greek guy.

Always wondered about this  guys shipping time. How is his shipping and getting you the parts ordered?

Have seen some stuff in the past cheaper but went else where  and paid more, just because his was  was coming that far.

I get my stuff from him in a week. If i order on a monday, i get my stuff the next monday. Usually quicker than Baileys. Baileys is 8 days. Unless i use priority ship.

I get alot of parts from him also. Get parts in 1/2 the time it takes to get them from the US. Never had a problem.

I've bought Caber rings and Meteor pistons from The Greek usually 7-8 days so far.

Not that I am worried about this now. But I wonder IF the Caber or Split rings will hold up to the alky/nitro mix in a race saw or hot gas saw.  ;)

I had some aftermarket 5000 rings that would turn blue and loose compression after a few runs on nitro/alky mix. Only husky partner  OEM rings held up with no problems.
Now AFM worked fine in gas work saws and a woods ported 5000 still out there and hot woods ported saws, but dont add any coktail mixes.  :-X   Hmmm it blanks out the word cocktail.  :D

I ordered and put 394 OEM rings in the 166 piped saw for this reason when I had aftermarket on hand.

Anyone else found that the aftermarket rings wont hold up to the alky/nitro mix?
