Chainsaw Repair

TJ, yea I was surprised at how dirty the saw was.  I know zero about how a 372 *should* look up close, but that travel limiter seemed way too loose, which is why I thought it should have a rubber mount or something in there. 

I forgot to mention that pitted muffler with the coat of paint last night.  I was already pretty pissed about the cylinder.  It would have been ok IF he had told me about it and if I had paid about $125 less.  I paid for OEM and got Chinese AM.

I searched this board and AS for his name and all I found were positive reports.  Maybe there are some threads like this out there on him, but I didn't find them.  That's one reason I put all his names / handles in the original post.

Fortunately, he is being cool about a refund.  Here is his reply:

The cylinder and piston are from RJW Cylinder works back east,
I have had good results with them. The rings will need to seat in.
If you would like to return unit, just drain gas/oil and return.

This is a good lesson for me.  I should have known better.  I DO know better.  But I heard XPW and got excited.
