372XPW -- Need pro eyes & opinions
« on: October 04, 2013, 10:56:52 pm »
Hi Guys,

I bought a 372XPW from "The Chainsaw Guy" Richard Dougan (aka Saw.King on ebay).  Upon inspection, it looks like the cylinder may be aftermarket.  I can't find "Mahle" on it anywhere, and it is way cleaner than anything else on the saw.

Can you confirm from these pics?

Also, in the 4th pic that I'll post of the bottom clutch side, should there be an AV mount in that little gap?

Thanks,
Cameron

Contrast turned up a little to help show the cylinder

You have an aftermarket cylinder.
Looks to be an NWP cylinder from Baileys as they are painted black.
Mahle and Gilardoni cylinders are not painted.

Can you look through the exhaust port to see if the piston has a black Teflon coating?

That's the travel limit pin for the AV
