What does spun off mean? Husqvarna and Husqvarna AB? These were 2 different companies? With Poulan beneath, does that mean they're still affiliated and Poulan still makes the cheap Huskies? Thanks Kevin

Husqvarna was set up as it's own entity with a separate stock market listing although E-lux held the controlling interest. It is now the largest manufacturer of forestry, lawn and garden equipment in the world. Electrolux AB is concentrating on it's core business, appliances and refrigeration equipment.

......

2006 Electrolux spun off Husqvarna AB into its own company, with Poulan nested beneath.

Yes, Poulan and many other brands - and Husky has bought more, most important Zenoah/Redmax and the world rights to the McCulloch brand name (they already owned it for at least Europe).

Thank yo all for the Great lists! Bluegill, you mentioned only the smallest, cheapest Huskies by Poulan. Who made the larger big box store saws? For example, the 440 or 455 Rancher? I see those everywhere.

I read somewhere that Poulan and Husky are no longer affiliated? Thanks again everyone!!
Husqvarna makes the 435, 440, 450, 455 etc, in Sweden. All models except the two smallest, cheapest model (235,240?)

Husky owns Poulan.

And the owner of Husky has owned Poulan for many years, since back in the 80's

Electrolux bought Poulan in 1986, and Husky "inherited" it in 2006, along with a lot of other OPE brands and factories.

My favorites are the Husky 272XP and the 385XP.
I have the 288XP and that saw is a beast.

I also like the smaller Huskys as well 235/240.

If you want to look for a model that has a large following I saw any saw in the 2XX series.

MIGHTY HUSKY 235
BESTEST SAW EVER!
