If that's who I think it is he's been building saws for a long time. He semi retired and his son was doing some of the saws.

Bump an old thread with a 390xp question.

I have noticed this saw pulls down into mid range rpm but has a load of torque there. So I just use a 8pin to get the chain speed up.

Question is will a muffler mod raise the peak torque curve or just make it louder with little gain in rpm while in the cut?

You running a 20" or 24" bar?

Why not use a 7 pin and file a more aggressive chain?
