Alan, the other thing you might consider is; if the 394 C/P need to be replaced because of damage, you could use the 395 C/P to get the saw running and send it down the road and get some money out of it. That way you could compare your other saw and the 395BB equipped saw (before you sell it) and give a report to the forum. Then we would all know if the BB kit really makes a difference.

IF the C/P are in good shape, return the 395BB kit, get the saw running, sell it and go on to the next project.

I'll try the BB kit, I have to look into porting tools just to clean things up some though,  The 372 BB kit was pristene looking in the ports, nice and clean, this one looks like some one took a **** in the mould before it was poured....

Don't go to the expense of buying porting tools!  Tell hls that you are not happy with the quality of this particular kit and want to exchange it for one that has better finish work. They won't give you any crap, I know because I have done it!

Doesn't matter Tim, I wana open up the exhaust port anyways. The 365 I have apart has a bigger port then the 395bb. He'll the 372 bb hyway has bigger port.

Well, since they did not even know they had three in stock, until you called, perhaps they were old stock. I do know in the beginning Hyway had some quality problems that HLS was working with Hyway to address. This is also documented on other sites.

If it were me I would send it back for exchange you might get a totally different/better C/P back! OBTW put a mark on it in a place only you know so you don-t get the same one back! Just an observation the early ones did not come sealed in a bag inside the box the later ones do! The bag is marked 'Hyway' all over it!

Be careful working on the ports, niksil chips easily when you are chamfering the port openings to avoid a ring hanging up.

Well I finally got to beat on the 394 with the hiway BB kit.  Its great, spools up faster, cuts faster.  I don't want to pick up my stock jugged 394 with a dual port muffler and light porting compared to this saw.
