Alan, from the picture this saw does look pretty good! You re going to need another of those $25 HD air filter covers though. Although, if you are going to put a 395 BB kit on it you will be replacing the better part of the intake tract, so you might want to think about going with the non-HD setup and save yourself a couple $.

Saws a basket case, stripped holes here and there, missing screws, case is **** in a hole for starter mounting, starter pawls screwed, starter pulley screwed, throttle is missing sprig and safety and two steel pins, cable is shot, buffer springs broke, air conductor ****, case **** by oil tank. Piston is done, jug could be salvaged need be, Intake bracket in 5 pieces I need a beer

Tim, what air filter do I need for the BB kit?

Tim, I ordered that kit from someplace else, hls does not have it in stock.   Was wondering on what air filter you were talking about

Wow, what a mess! Let me look round in a box of scrap cases I have perhaps there is something there that will make your job easier! Otherwise, I see you doing a tutorial on how to weld up cases and drill and tap holes LOL!

Were the other two saws in such bad shape? I have a 576 non-AT here that I have to do a top end on for the same guy, wondering how bad of shape it is in. Have not yet opened the box.

The others were on the same shape.  The poor packaging and ripped open box and missing parts cost me over. $ 100 to replace. When heavy items are shipped, they must be packaged well enough to withstand being dropped, thrown,,,
