One of mine is up around 195 lbs and I think that's the stocker. One is a Madsens saw and one is a stocker, both have gobs of compression. Both also have adjustable carbs and triple port mufflers. They run much better.

Well I dual ported the muffler.  I copied the porting closer to what a 394 was, the big side ports were .200 lower on the 395 vs the 394, squared off the ports some on the intake and exhaust, raised the top of the intake port to that of a 394, Opened up the exit area of the exhaust and matched the al gasket and muffler.

Basically I took a stab in the dark hoping for the best.  It worked!!  You can lean on it and digs like mad.

One question, How do you know if there is a rev limiter in the coil?  wide oped throttle free wheeling with no load it sounds strange , Still breaks up, where my 394's don't seem to.

A tach will go nuts when the coil is in limitation

Blue coils usually have the limitation number stamped on them?

I sliced the restrictor tabs off my 395's H & L screws and that's all I needed to do to it to pull a 32" for what I need it for.
I do run a 7 T 3/8 rim on it though, what it came with from the factory.

There's no restrictor tabs. Screws are set in. I remember reading about a tool to remove the screws.

Memory  fades after 7 years.  It must have been just my 372, 346 and 338 that I cut the tabs off with a carpet knife.
Will have to pull the top cover off the 395 and have another look.

Different carbs on them have different limiters. The spline screw driver will adjust those. You can take something and press the ring in and then turn the screw to get into another range of adjustment on the limiters.
