That type deflector is on Husky 65-77 too.  Very easy to bend closed when mounted on the front which is stock location.  Most saws I've seen with it were bent partially closed.  TreeMonkey (AS name) makes a 288 deflector was selling for $6.00 ea.

on my last bunch of saws I built I never used any deflector , just modded the stock muffler deflector and did the muffler mod in the stock hole , same power and alot quieter and I think the muffler last longer
