If you had a complete saw minus the piston . . .

You might surprise yourself on your ability to develop the dimensions of the piston needed as to bore, compression height, skirt length, skirt width, piston pin boss width, and pin diameter? Most of this you can see as imprinted wear patterns on the used cylinder and a quick measurement of the rod? Most of this can be achieved with the wife's cloth dress measuring tape.
We should share what we know... someone may learn...
That knowledge can live after us... and that "Pays It Forward".
Be all that you can be . . .

You need to measure your bore to see what you have?  You say closed port? Your sure CP and 45mm then?  If so you might be able to just clean up cylinder and use that jonsered 535 45mm  piston.

That 46mm piston in those kits are.

Bore 45.93mm
Height 37mm
Head Type Flat
Piston Pin 10mm x 34mm x 6mm
Ring 46mm x 1.5mm Caber
Compression/Pin Top to top of Piston 14mm
Compression/Pin Center to top of Piston 19mm

It hasnt made it to me yet. Hopefully it will make it here in time for the Blizzard.  :o The previous owner send me photos of it including some of the cylinder. First thing I will do is measure it. It sure looks like the CP version. I am hoping that maybe I can clean up the cylinder and use the 535 piston. I was just hoping to get the actual dimensions of the CP 55 piston to compare against the 535 piston. THey sure look the same but I havent seen anyone confirm that the the critical dimensions like the overall height and dimension from the pin to top is the same as the 535. Maybe I missed it. It is putting me at a disadvantage having the previous owner already toss the piston. What does this cylinder look like to you all?

I'm sure the 55 590 piston 45mm specs are here somewhere.

jonsered 590 also 55 CP used piston I had but never measured and entered specs as far as I can tell.

Anyone got specs on a stock 590 55CP piston?   We got Mitch's 535 piston specs already.

Sure look like twins

Copied from other places:
Jonsered 535 piston specs:

35.4mm tall
 pin height 13.8
 skirt 29.66
 wrist width 10.52
 pin 10mm

Husqvarna 55 closed port piston specs:

Compression Height = 19mm
 Total Height = 37mm
 Width between pin bosses -=14.75mm
 Pin Diameter = 10mm

Doesn't look close enough for a direct out of the box replacement.
