Put it this way I cant believe it is only 45cc stock. Maybe it is because of the small 325 7T  and 5/32" small cutter carlton 325 fooling me in the cut of small hardwood log and bigger spruce log.

I didnt know there was a EPA 346xp 45cc in the OE old edition. I am showing only 1 year of them in 2004 on the IPL's.

Was it only a CAT muffler and green fuel cap added?

The EPA versions originally had nothing to do with cat muffler or not - the cat muffler option existed before the EPA versions appeared, mainly to protect the user from inhaling exaust fumes. The EPA designation is about other differences.

Another thing is that the brands sometimes sold/sell saws with cats as standard saws in the US, to score "points" with the EPA....

Even completely stock with no MM and spark arrestor still in with carb set a fat 13.8K the 45cc 346 impressed me.  Was using 7T  325 carlton K2.

Didnt see any difference in 45cc and the 50cc I ran earlier. Wont be able to tell difference till I have a back to back comparison   someday.
Compared to a 5000+??

All saws had stock mufflers and spark screen in.

Just ran the 50cc 45cc 346 set up the same at 13.8k and my like new 5000+ 49cc.  After running them with 18" carlton 325 7T same b+c on each.

I noticed the torque difference right off between the 45cc 346 and others. By itself impressive limbing saw. The 50cc 346 has noticeable torque difference then 45cc 346. The 5000+ set at 12.7k felt like the 346 50cc in the cut to me. I would give edge to 346 50cc. 5000+ had the torque difference over the 346 45cc too.
Didnt have the 5105 today to run.

I thought the 346OE today was rather impressive if you just let it do its work and not push on it. It would be a great limbing saw.

I liked the way the Partner 5000+ ran. Very impressive closed port version. Lots of torque for 50cc.

Like was mentioned, we should have let the Dolmar 50/52 cc's in on the action. I forgot to get the 5105.

It was a perfect day today to be out running saws with the sun shinning - no wind - and temperature mid 40's F.
