You are correct.  I measured my cylinder and it is indeed 45mm, and the piston is 44mm and has the cutouts.  The piston I ordered will be returned if I can't cancel the order before it is shipped.  Looks like I need to regroup.  I'll let you know if I find the correct piston.

Okay, I have a new plan of attack.  I will pull the piston and rotate it 180 degrees, install a new ring and put it back together.  I have removed the snap rings that hold the wrist pin in, now how to I remove the wrist pin?  I thought it would just push out, but it doesn't want to.

I didn't go back and read this thread again.

But turning the piston 180 degrees may not work? It depends on where the pins are that locate the ends of the rings. If these pins locate the ring ends in a port position, the ring will catch and bust everything up.

You may have to warm the piston up to get the wrist pin out?

Gave up trying to find the right piston for it.  Bowed to the pressure and installed a Meteor 46mm kit.  Thing runs like a scalded dog!  It even ki-yi's a little!  ;D  If anyone is interested I still have the factory 45mm cylinder, piston, wrist pin, clips and roller bearing for the saw.  I have no idea what, or if, it has any value.  If someone wants it, make me an offer.  You pay shipping and I'll send it.

Almost forgot, the piston and cylinder are both scored pretty well.  I did put a new ring on the piston, but it still overheated likely because the cylinder is scored.  Here are the pics I have of it.
