« on: December 08, 2013, 07:05:40 pm »

Have not used that, normally use Meteor, Hyway or clean used OEM. Regardless of what you choose you also should get this. No need to spend the money on C/P only to have an air leak that trashes the top end!

It is not the gaskets it is the manifold tube and the impulse grommet that go south. Look on the left of the picture round black tube and short tan tube. They are both in direct contact with the hot cylinder. Which tends to dry them out and cause leaks.

Tim this is the stuff I was telling you about.  I put some on a piece of cardboard, let it set for 1 day, then threw it in a small container of gas.  It did not fail.   I use a dab of this on the little pulse tube, my intake boots are fine.

Well I won one on ebay 3 days ago and its not showing that its shipped yet, been having bad luck with ebay lately.  What do you want for your jug and piston? If this ebay deal falls through.

I actually have a 51 in need of a jug so i was going to put the 55 jug on it.

Whats the deal with a 028 piston in a 55?

028S piston is same 46mm diameter as the 55. It has a 3mm domed top which raises the compression. You have to mess a bit getting the squish right and relieve the inner pin boss to get it to fit on the Husqvarna rod small end. Just like doing an 064 piston in a 372 big bore.

Makes a very strong running saw. Mine is at 190PSI and not fully broken in.

The bottom end you won looks like a nice base for a project saw. If the piston is scored below the EP, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

As to the jug/piston we can work something out perhaps on some welding on mufflers.
