The bar on my 550XP is a Oregon Power Match # 160RNDK095  with Stihl 3/8" RSC chain. This chainsaw is shown in the lower picture but with a 20" bar.

I have the equivalent Husqvarna bar on my Husqvarna 545 and the Stihl 3/8" RSC chain. (in the pictures shown in the previous post - the lower picture it has a different bar)

They are the Current design bars with the 3/32" angled hole that has been drilled out perpendicular to the bar 5/32"

I also have a Husqvarna 346XP NE with the Oregon Power Match 160RNDK095 bar and the Stihl 3/8" RSC chain. This chainsaw has had a .325 bar and a different Oregon 3/8" X 16" bar that is 59 DL.

I have never had a oiling problem with these chainsaws.

In this country, in the last few years, the Husqvarna bars are Oregon bars with Husqvarna numbers. In the past, Husqvarna bars have been sourced from different suppliers including bars made by Husqvarna themselves.

The husky bar should be a oregon bar too. Just a different version?

Husky make a lot of the laminated bars on their own bar factory in Norway, and those usually have a slimmer profile than the Oregon made ones.

Hey, Nikko, perhaps you may be able to give us some more info on the HVA 'Tech-Lite' bars. We in the US are being told the bars have been temporarily discontinued. Is this true?  Discontinued for redesign? For problems? Any info would be greatly appreciated since you are in Norway where they are made you might know something we are not being told.

I just bought two Jred  laminated bars, 18" .058, 3/8". Made in Norway with the large oil hole. Lighter weight than the Oregon counter parts. I like em!  ;D

Well, I need to pick a bar to get the saw back in action.

I have some new 20LPX 66 chains, so I may just go with a Powermatch for them.
Going with the cheaper PRO-LITE bar seems to have cost me more as it turned out.

Wasn't able to find the Jred branded bars. Everyone was selling Oregon, Carlton etc. as replacements, but no Jred.

I've wanted to try a longer bar on this saw, but wasn't sure if I needed to keep the same or change chain pitch / sprockets for best performance on a 50cc saw.

Thanks to everyone for your assistance.

Just get 18" laminated Husky bar, stay with same gauge and pitch. No need to complicate stuff.

Another thing you need to be cautious of on the 550 is that you cannot use a narrow kerf bar with the 20LPX or it will bind up and not move. One reason that I stick to .058 on these saws.

How do I tell recent production from old stock on the powermatch bars (or others) ??
Maybe just experience...
