They also updated the clutch cover. It now uses the more durable grey paint, and the word Husqvarna is cast-in, instead of a sticker
They also improved the durability of the clutch drum by adding a forged adapter. This requires a different worm gear, and also a different oil pump. The whole system is less prone to long-term wear.
The crank bearings are now 6-ball bearing instead of 5-ball bearings. If you buy a replacement crank it comes with the new bearings installed.
The new crankcase / short block now comes with the new more durable grey paint, and the flywheel side allows for the use of an additional protective cap as was mentioned to prevent dirt getting into the crank case.
These are all minor things that address long-term reliability after Husqvarna has had a decade to analyze the most common failure modes on the 562/555 chassis.
