« on: June 21, 2014, 11:49:23 pm »
I got a Husky 576xp that got givin to me 3 years ago I am maybe gettting it going here soon.First what year is it here is the S/N 08-4800119.Anyways the is a person that is saying there is a updated piston and cylinder assy for it. I already know it but the part number I looked for it on partstree is 575257404 and that number is the newest on there as a update piston and cylinder. Now the person on ebay said their's up newer on the part number I just listed.
What gives??? Ebay store is called LIL RED BARN POWER EQUIPMENT SUPPLY, LLC. as far as I know they all are aftermart parts. I do and will keep this saw all OME parts...Here's the link.    http://www.ebay.com/itm/141088793385 Please please me out on this matter..

Thank you
Jason

Your saw was made 2008 week 48 which amounts to it being probably bought in 2009

Lil Red barn normally just sells Chinese stuff but he's got a bunch of those 576 P&C's

If you get a new OEM piston from Husqvarna, it will be the latest one.

With the Key word "REPLACES" that he put in that AD and the design of the wrist pin clips makes me suspicious?

If it was OEM and newer than version "4", he would have the new number on there?

For $230 I think I would ask Spike for one?

I don't have the service bulletin here at home, but I will check the numbers tomorrow. My GUESS is that saws built in 2008 probably have the early kit. Pistons do not interchange between them, so you need to be on top of the build dates with these saws.

There are some aftermarket kits showing up for the 576 and 575. They aren't the same, as most of you know, but will bolt on either chassis. Mixing them up will result in saws that run, but are off on power as the ports don't quite match the case. And with the aftermarket industry being what it is, you never know what they are going to stick in those boxes.

Ok mine is a 2008 then. I can tell it has the early piston and cylinder in it becouse it the piston is a single ring. 660 yea I was not 100% it was OME. I will never put aftermarket in none of my saws.Always OME. I have one Stihl I am working on alittle at a time. That was made for one year that needs work. I looked in one of my small engine magazines I get. There is a guy in SD that has NOS Stihl parts pricey as heck. But back to my husky. This is the very first husky I ever owned in 25 years of owning and rebuilding saws. Is the 576xp a good saw? And yes I do want OME parts for it. Partstree wants I think 222.00 for the kit. If I could buy kit from one of you guys off of here for that price or less I will do it. It is a shame to see a nice saw just sit there.I still can't get over the repair shop just gave it too me with a new carb. What is the biggest size of bar I can put on it with out over kill?

Thanks for the replies
Jason

Jacks and SEPW have 575-2574-04 PC for $197.75.    If you have a business EIN Jacks will give 10% discount.  I get most of my HVA parts there.
