need new bars for both saws am seeing a 050 and 058 gauge--have used 050 on the 66 for years-the 372 is new to me no bar---- any help would be great--got to tune the 372 ans adjust carb guy dropped it off said I could have it --great friend
want to stay with what the 372 used prior as to not upset the sprocket on clutch --may need new ones on both saws havent changed to one on 66 in many years-and the 372 was just dropped off this week-the 66 has inbound sprocket the other has the outbound sprocket---I know the 058 is a stronger chain but always used 050 cause it is available local--- any advise?????

Me cut4fun The above was sent to me by a unknown source somehow. So will post here with the name.  Rim could use 050 058 063. So no biggie there.  I would use 050 myself.

If it were me, I would stay with the .050 gauge over the larger sizes in those saws, especially if it worked good in the past for him.  I have use both up to the size up to my Dolly 7900 saw and not had any issues.  However, any bigger saws I might consider the .058 gauge and above  for the sake of more "beef" in the chain for larger wood and such.  just my opinion.

thanks for the info--been searching the internet for deals on a pair of bars for these saws--want a 20" for the 66 and a 24" for the 372 -they keep asking if it's the 050 or 058--as far as I know 050 was what I used for years-always best to check with others before making a costly mistake--love this forum

Don't be shy to run Stihl .050 bars on your Huskies.
I've been using up my old Stihl bars on my 562 372 395 saws.
Got a couple of new Oregon 36" .050 bars I bought for my 066 about 20 yrs ago , finally running them today on my 395XP
You'll need to stock up on some bar slot adapters.  Stihl sells them for the Husqvarna owners ;)

Doesn't matter whether you run .050 or .058 if you are buying chains to match. Husqvarna Canada usually supplies .058 unless the customer specifies otherwise. As HolmenTree says you can use Stihl bars with spacers if they are more readily available.
