Bumping old thread
42 vs 42 special
Husqvarna Norway claim it was just a gimmick and there was no difference in later 90's
Other claim there was several difference between 42 vs ,42

i would like to know whitch difference, what stamps the jug had, what piston 42 vs 42 special had. If any have pictures please post them.

i have 2 Husky 42, 90 97,
The 90 have gilardoni 7 jug
The 97 have gilardoni 241 å jug
Have had several 42's.  Just sold a real nice 93' model 42 Special on "bay" last week.  Had the Gilardoni cylinder.  I don't believe any changes were made to the cylinders during the run of the 42's but I could be wrong.  The Mahle cyl. was used on the 242 only as far as I know.
