Carbs on 357 359
« on: March 26, 2012, 12:44:38 pm »
Whats the difference in the walbro 199 and 175 that were used on the 357 359?   I dont ever recall a 175 on one and have only used the 199 in the past.

The replacement zama doesn't like ported saws without some work.

The reportedly "bad" walbros were the 190, 191, 198 and 199 (different numbers for EPA/not and heated/not heated saws). I don't really remember, but assume the 199 is EPA/not heated...... ;)

I'm gonna either put a 084 carb or the stock carb back on my 346........

660mag the walbro you noticed the choke not working on had to come apart.  Spray just barely got it moving a tad.  Couldn't get the shaft to work smoothly so I took it out to clean up. Time will tell.

That looked like a nice carb otherwise.

1 of my 357's has the 175 carb on and it did suffer the 199 issue as it has the same port. All fixed now tho  ;D

Its an early 2003 saw and has the spacer block. Cant say I enjoyed the zama I bought to replace it and now refitted it and the saws back to its old self and will 4 stroke again. The zama has just been stuck back in its box....

I got a 175 here I'm not going to use.  Was a back up carb to my 199's.  Sat so long the choke shaft got to where it wouldnt move, so pulled it out to clean back up.  If anyone interested in it.
