The intake tract is different between the newer X-Torq version and the original style 372XP.
The X-Torq version has the extra intake ports on the cylinder connection.
This is the way the newer X-Torq cylinder intake connection looks and notice the three holes.

To use a early style or current after market piston and cylinder assembly is going to require you to use the complete original style intake boot assembly/carburetor, and filter-mount elbow. or just use the intake boot assembly from the Husqvarna 385/390 and retain the XT carburetor etc.
Take note that the XT style carburetor has a 1.59 mm larger venturi than the original style Walbro HD12B carb.
