Crank Bearings
« on: January 09, 2014, 08:32:32 am »
Where are you guys buying crank bearings and seals?  No supply house close to me.  If Jacks order ever comes in (ordered Dec.3 HDA164 is the holdup) I have a 359 to replace bearings.  I had 6-6202c3 got em out China don't remember where I got em.  I'm afraid to use them.

I've made a lot of transactions with RCBearings.com and always got exactly what I ordered and very promptly.

I need to qualify my past experience with Paul McIntosh at RCBearings.

The bearings are normally No name Chinese.

In the past, Paul has accommodated special needs of people by getting in specials.  There have been special seals, and Polymide cages, etc.

If you want NTN or SKF specifically, Email him.

Paul's daughter physically manages the warehouse and shipping in Mesa, AZ. Paul normally lives in the Washington DC area. He is often out of the country in his day job which is procurement and supply. Paul is the one that has a handle on the unusual problems or special needs of procurement, inventory, and shipping at RCBearings. Even though he may happen to be in Timbuktu, he seems to always get back to you via Email within a day or two.

If I had a special need, I Emailed him and it was taken care of. I have never called on the phone but assumed if I did, his daughter or one of her employees would answer the phone?

There is also Boca Bearings in Florida. They are much higher priced than RCBearings. They do list on their site many special bearings but again the name brands are rarely mentioned.

Northwood saw carries all husky bearings at a reasonable price.  I've always received Nachi bearings from them.

Shep, pretty much any bearing place can get you what you want and most will have them is stock as the 6203 is a very common bearing and they are cheap to buy , I like using SKF bearing and they cost me up here $10 a piece , I can get FAG bearings for $3 a piece also , never had a problem with either but I just how the SKF bearing feels

FAG bearings are good.  The name doesn't translate well to English however.8)

I went back to the local Dodge dealership to get a Dodge Shadow front wheel bearing assembly that I didn't have enough money to purchase earlier. This time the parts manager was gone and a woman was in there.

I told her it was a FAG bearing. She finally found the bearing and commented that "It really is a FAG" I guess she thought I was being a foul mouth?

the husky dealer here buys the Fag bearing and then sells them to customers as Husky bearings at $28 a piece , so $25 profit
