Cylinder help again
« on: December 29, 2013, 11:09:49 am »
I have a 266xp and I have to replace the cylinder and a friend of mine gave me 2 cylinders and he "thinks"  1 was off a 266xp and the other off a 630 jred and possibly off an other model saw.

Can someone tell me what the cylinders are off of if i post pics and number? Or if they will work for me.

cylinder #1
50Z13  W6
V MAHLE

Cylinder #2
FK948

Your secret may be in matching the looks of the intake side of the cylinder?

Cylinder 1 with the rubber on the intake looks like a 630 cylinder with the closed port solid flange base.

In the past, SawTroll has been able to identify Mahle cylinders by the casting numbers. Perhaps he will be along to let us all know. I will snoop around and see if I can identify it.

Both cylinders are closed port from seeing the solid flange base. #2 cylinder has the newer style high muffler which might make it a 268

Near as I can tell the '50ZN13 W6' is a 266 jug. I cannot find anything on the 'fk' jug at all!

Looks like both have bolted intake to me.
Rubber on the first looks like the seal.

First one Is Mahle think could be for 266, 50ZN13
Second is a Kolbenschmidt cylinder FK 948.

Should be different diameter on them 50mm on 266, 48mm on 630.

Remove the boot on the Mahle, they could be the same...

Jim is that what the little mark is to the far right of the '8'? Just ahead of the rear flange bolt hole.
