That is an old slow revving saw, you may gain a little by polishing the exhaust and matching the ports. You want faster look for a good 272/372, lots around for reasonable prices.

77 Piston & cylinder are direct bolton on a 65.  You'll need a 77 cyl. cover or cut a hole in the top of the 65 for spark plug.

thank you fur the input, if i put the 77 head and piston on my 65, i can use the carb off the 77 right? did they make more than one carb fur the 77, if so, was there a bigger carb that fit the 77 that i could use with the 77 head and piston. How do i port and polish, what tool do i need?

Yes you can use 77 carb and associated intake parts on 65.  I'll have to check on carbs don't remember off the top of my head.  You can use a Dremel with carbide bits to port.  There are a lot of methods to polish .  There is a thread in Tool Shed or How to Basic Fixes.  Do a search on porting.

Bigger carb for 65/77 http://www.ebay.com/itm/HUSQVARNA-CHAINSAW-480-CARBURETOR-BOX2468X-/351192546088?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item51c4b4fb28  IMHO don't think you need larger carb.  Here is a link for Tilltson HS carbs gives venturi size, etc.  http://www.tillotson.ie/docs/HSPartsList.pdf
