Hursqvana 136 cutting out after reaching maximum speed
« on: May 09, 2020, 10:03:30 am »
I've just serviced my 136.
It starts and idles perfectly.
Shortly after reaching maximum speed and a little sawing, it cuts out.
I can then start it again without a problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Could be the fuel filter.   It could be the tank vent is plugged.
Pull the muffler off of it and inspect the piston through the exhaust port to make sure it is not scored from running to lean.
Report back.

Thanks for the advice.
I checked the piston and it is not scored.
Then I checked the fuel filter, which I replaced along with a new fuel pipe last year.
I was annoyed at what I discovered: the fuel pipe was disintegrating and dissolving in the petrol (see photo), and the fuel filter had fallen off.
I guess I'm lucky it hasn't wrecked the machine.
I'll be sending a complaint to whoever supplied this pipe.
Thanks for sorting this out.

I see that alot on folks saws that come in.

Ethanol messing with lines.   Even worse when old mix and starts to jell and also drawing in water in your mix.

Thanks for updating us.

I am glad that your piston and cylinder are still in good condition and you found out what is wrong.   Congrats.
