I found 2 places that list a 238 piston in stock online.  Over $100 each. Other wise No Longer Available.

I even put one of the 238 piston in the cart to see if it would say NLA and it didnt  ???. Only one way to find out if NOS setting there still.

Old post but I came across (If I remember right) 238 and 242 aftermarket pistons for sale the other day.  Check lil red barn I think.

I might be wrong on the 238 afm one.   :'(

I have read where a guy used a 338xpt piston and modified it to use in a 238xp though.

A stihl 091 or Ms 190 is a 40mm piston and the 20/200t also uses 40mm and has the windows like the husky 038 piston. Don't know the overall height or the compression measure, went but his may be a place to start. There other models of stihl saws that also use a 40mm piston but do not have the windows.

The 019 / MS190 have a 40mm dia piston with 16.5 mm above the wrist pin

With the Stihl 40mm pistons, some have 9mm wrist pins and others are 10mm

Likewise some 40mm pistons are 33mm high and some are 30mm

Thank you I did not know that or did not have the patients to go search for it.
