e for intake huh? i can see how that would mess with peoples heads. right off the start e stands for exhaust is what everybody would first think. i myself have never seen a piston marked like that, but makes sense. i would have put it in with the pin on the intake side regardless  ;D                                   


Looks like Kolbenschmidt  (K over S) to me? Look and see if the same square is on the outside of the cylinder? The "E" is for "Einlass" or inlet


Both KolbenScmidt and Mahle made (OEM) top ends for those saws, as was the case with the 262xp.
