Trust me I am more then happy with 3/8 on a stock saw.  The 325 is for the chain build off we are doing.  So setting a saw up to run 325.
It's been a fun learning experience. Trying 325 8T 9T and bars etc on 362xp 6800i PP365 357xp.  Was always something stopping the set ups except on the PP365.

I know. Your posts on the subject are a big reason I switched my 346s' to 3/8.

There is of course a possibility that there is a difference between 10t and 12t nose bars, even though that difference really should have been compensated by making the 12t bars slightly shorter.

When you put a .325 tip on a 3/8" 60dl 11t bar, the result is a 68dl 12t bar though (at least with Tsumura), as the 16" 3/8"  bars simply are longer.

All my bars were 66DL 325 050 bars.  3 of them all different brands, thickness and lengths.

I'm running a 18" power match bar with 72 DLs along with 8T drive sproket with plenty of room to swap chains. The 8T just fits better than the 7T with .325 chains on the 357xp. The 7T won't hardly load the motor but the 8T cuts much faster.

Didnt work here with 325 8T and this 357 and 16" bars.  Dont make sense, but I'm not the only one to see this.

Only way it would have worked here was grind on heel of bar to shorten it up or add a link or 2 to the chain to use bar without grinding.

Cut,
When you ran that 346 pump gear and drum on the 357. Did you have to put any washers behind the clutch to help hold the drum in the pump gear. I am trying to run an 8t gear on my 359 there is a good amount of in and out travel on the drum, not sure if it will stay engaged.

Nothing extra was used. I used to swap 357 stuff to 346 and 346 like you sent to 357. I never had any problems.

My 346NE has a 357 clutch drum etc to use 3/8 Stihl RS chain. Didn't have to be done that way but it was to accommodate another 346
