ok maybe its just me but I can't find and new piston and jug anywhere aside from the dealer. I do not feel like paying $560 for just the parts from the local dealer. anyone got any leads on where to get one? baileys didn't have any

That is because it is a Xtorq.

The only after market piston & cylinder kits are for the old style 365 Special and 372XP. But you can get a 52mm big bore 76.4cc for these old ones.

The intake boot, carb, and choke lever are different on the old style. There are a few other differences too but they have no effect on a conversion.

I was afraid of that.  :-[.. just was thinking someone from elsewhere dealers wouldn't be as much as a rip off haha

You may only need a piston? Perhaps your cylinder could be cleaned up?

I was hoping so but even the hone didn't work. we are talking deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep scoring. a chunk of the piston actually broke off

Well, it is either pay the big bucks for a new X-torq P&C or convert it to the old style after market style.

I doubt they ever make aftermarket X-torq for these for the design is due for a re-make and there wasn't enough installed base of 365/371 X-torqs to justify a after market X-torq piston & cylinder

I may have a jug but no piston. I will look for the jug and PM you. My thought is as the above you would be better off with a BB kit.

I picked up a XT P&C on Ebay a while back for $100 or so.  If your not in a hurry they do pop up ocassioally.  Agree w/others on the BBK for the least expensive way out.  You also might look @ a 372/375XPW P&C.  IIRC they are cheaper than an XT.

I used a Forester brand BBK from Ahlborn on my DolMak 6401.  It is a NiSi kit (Tiawan).  I had a NWP BBK in stock @ the time  chose the Forester it was better looking than the NWP.  Real happy with it.  Cost is about the same the Forester being cheaper w/my shop discount.  I need to place an order this week if I can help let me know.  PM for details.
