Chainsaw Repair

Almost none of the external parts interchange between the Rancher and Rancher II. I think the only one that is the same is the gray top handle. Tank, top, starter, and clutch cover are all different.

The anticipated changes to the rancher line up should be happening soon. The originals may be going away, and the 460 II and/or 465 II should be arriving. Specs for both of them have been in the 455 II owners manual since the get go. Should be interesting saws, but the big question is still pricing. If they get too close to the 555/2258 it will be a tough sell.

Just as long as they beat the Stihl's 391's price performance... (Had a funny conversation on the hill last evening! One of the guy's looked at my 350 fugly saw a said..."I see you like the second best saw builder..." In jest of course... so I answered, who's the first? He said.. you know...  Stihl! And I answered.. "The most impressive thing that Stihl has ever done is figure out how to cut wood with plastic! And get people to BUY that concept"..  )
