Husky 50
« on: October 01, 2014, 09:06:00 pm »
Just got this today.   They were getting ready to throw it out at work so I got it for a freeby.
I pulled the muffler and the piston is scored pretty bad, so I will wait and see how bad the cylinder is.
I like that the fact that it is a split case saw and not a clamshell.

Being that it is 49cc and a split case saw I hope to make a few improvements with it.   It has a 18" bar .325 chain
I want to pull the cylinder before I get to invested in it first.
Nice looking though and for free who can complain.

Make great racesaws with a ported partner 5000 plus top end on them or a stock 50 magnum with same.

Thanks guys.   I will probably get a stock piston for it and hope to salvage the cylinder.  If I have to replace the piston and cylinder both then I may look into other options.

That closed port 46mm aftermarket p+c Adam C was showing looks like a nice replacement too.  Any feed back on stock trail run yet Adam?

Kev, Runs really Strong on the p5000.  I have a clean, seized 51 open port I'm thinking of buying another meteor cylinder for.

OK, I have a 50 here, top end is toast. Where can I get the Partner top end? Does meteor make one?

Tim, Greek Dude (DLA Store) has the meteor cylinder and piston kit 46mm nicely made. $125 or so.   There's an ebay seller in California that has em, but a little more costly. Has decompression machined into the jug, the top mount stud for Partner type cyl covers is absent. Had to drill and tap for my p5000.  Runs very strong on the Partner
