Husky 556
« on: March 20, 2013, 10:45:39 am »
Noticed in the 555/560/562 workshop manual that there is a 4th saw in the family: The 556. From reading the specs, the only thing I could conclude is that the 556 is a large mount 555, same as the 562XP is a large mount 560XP. Not that we are likely to see this model, (or that there is a reason to), but somebody somewhere thinks there is a need for it.  :)

Myself and I'm sure alot of others would be more interested in a 572XP.  :)
But from what is circulating through the rumor mill, we may not have to wait that long.

Well it had some air leak problems (probably with the air valve sticking) besides having a poor chain?

Saw was almost unusable in the video. I know they are supposed to be better than that.

Did you ever run that 562 demo saw at our local dealer Jim?  It was one of those saws I wouldnt use to show people how a 562 cut. Real peaky and bogged in the cuts easily too.

Now I talk with a true logging family and they love the new 562's for their uses in MI.   Replaced their 372's and  681's for their size wood they drop to save on the PHO weight carried.

I never ran it. He offered but I like my 7900's and 372's. At the time I was thinking it was more like my 357XP.

I saw the 562 run at Bill Poor's GTG. It cut like a pretty good 60cc saw. Noticeably lighter than a 372. I thought it had more torque than a 357XP.
