At the time I was thinking it was more like my 357XP.

I saw the 562 run at Bill Poor's GTG. It cut like a pretty good 60cc saw. Noticeably lighter than a 372. I thought it had more torque than a 357XP.

Exactly  59cc saw and felt like the 357 359 weight wise to me.

Noticed in the 555/560/562 workshop manual that there is a 4th saw in the family: The 556. From reading the specs, the only thing I could conclude is that the 556 is a large mount 555, same as the 562XP is a large mount 560XP. Not that we are likely to see this model, (or that there is a reason to), but somebody somewhere thinks there is a need for it.  :)

I am sure you are right.  ;)
The model is listed in the latest edition of the different Euro operator manuals (all I looked up), with the large mount, and at 5.8 kg (12.8 lbs).
What I don't know is if it has the high air filter/cover, but the amount of added weight over the 555 makes me believe it has.

The are no sign of it elsewhere on any of the websites yet, so it likely isn't out on any market yet?

To me, that model is the least attractive in that saw "family".....

Btw, I see you was careful about where to post this, and where not to - good judgement there!  ;D

Still no sign of it being offered for sale anywhere that I could imagine - and I am not really surpriced......

The 556 IPL is now out.

What I notised that it has the dawgs of the 562xp (not a surprice). However it appears to have the air filter of the 560xp/555, which is somewhat surpricing.... :o

I would like to see them go 48mm bore for 65cc on these and then the 50mm bore that is in the works still.   ;) Guessing on last bore for the 572xp.

I don't think it's going to be on that chassis. I think it will be a bigger chassis with inboard clutch and better oiler (I hope).

I figure so too on 50mm.

Like to see a 48mm on the 562 555 one though.

Yes, the 556 has appeared now - but oddly not in the US, but in Oz.

There is a new IPL, dated 2014-08, on the US website though. It confirms large mount, but the low air filter/top cover of the 560xp and 555.
