Husqvarna 576
« on: September 30, 2016, 10:40:57 am »
Hi All, was told about this site from a member on another forum.

I have a new 576XPW that I smoked by not breaking it in (is there a hammer on the head emoticon here?) and am now ready to rebuild the saw.

I have the parts and tools and have rebuilt things before though it's been a long time and never a small 2 stroke.  So, here are some questions:

I've removed the B&C, hand guard and started to work on removing the chain break and muffler.

Removed the screws from the chain break but can't see how to remove it.  Can someone point me to where I can see it done, pics?

Removed the two front bolts from the muffler -- doesn't move.  Is there something I'm missing here (must be).

I'll get some pics when I'm back in the garage to show where I am.  Thanks in advance!
Erik

Welcome to the Chainsaw Repair Site.

I never rebuilt or worked on a 576 so no help from me.

Low budget site so no neat smiles for us to post. I have to pay for them out of my pocket. Everything is FREE here with no sponsorship as I like to say we are all sponsors here.

I'll dig up what I can for yeah like a IPL

Curious yours regular carb or autotune?

Thanks -- and I understand the site running!  I run a popular dart website and it's a challenge to keep it going at times!

OK, got the muffler off (thanks to the parts breakdowns) and removed the guard (after having two parts fly off which I then captured and put in the parts magnet for safe keeping).  Then removed the bolts from the cyl head and realized I couldn't remove the cyl until I figured out how to remove the carb or disco it from the head....so that's where I am.  Just about ready to pop the cyl head off but need to figure out how to separate from the intake to the carb -- or if I have to remove the carb which I don't think I have to.

Muffler removed

Getting there

Trying to figure out how to separate the two

At this point I'm stopped as I have something to do for the weekend but I'll check back soon anyway.

I've also attached two pics showing a rather scored piston!  Yikes!

Wow!

Next break in better be better!!!

Thanks again for the help!
