Hi, two husky 61 with scored cylinders,is it worth getting them bored out to 50mm(266)or is that a waste of time,anyone tried that?

That would be a very costly project, with plating and redoing the porting - and there are larger bore cylinders that will fit. Often it will create a need for a different intake and carb though, and the top cover will have to be modified.

Hi,thought it might be a waste of time,i will have to try and get two piston and cylinder kits that are not Chinese rubbish because some of them are u/s !

Are the cylinders deeply scored or do they just have aluminum transfer from the piston that got too hot? Most times you can fix the cylinder and just buy a piston.

There is topics on cleaning up scored cylinders here. By hand or with tools.  Most clean up.

Just did 2-266 cyl's this way.  Pouring my acid out.  Works like a champ.  Recommend this method.
