I fixed one of those by gluing (JB for plastic) a small piece of aluminum tubing in the pulse opening on the carb side to reduce the size of the hole. I was worried about the reduction in passage diameter but the saw ran fine. You get the tubing from K&S at a hobby shop. The little red spacers used to mount the carb on a 365/71/72 saw may be a better solution since it would be plastic on plastic but at the cost of the red spacers hobby shop tubing is more economical.

That was one of my ideas.  Glad to hear that you've had success with it already Tim.

I've done a lot of research into this saw series to gather insight into parts interchange options.  There's a few combinations that HVA never implemented.....8)

I just had to pull the muffler off to look again and it does have a cat muffler and a green gas cap. And that can is a heavy little pos. Thanks for the info, glad I didn't cut into it without taking a look now!  8)
