Husqvarna 141 Will Not Start
« on: September 11, 2018, 12:41:02 pm »
I have a Husqvarna 141 that will not crank. I have replaced the plug, air filter. Switch is good. I have cleaned the carb but didn't replace any gaskets. Diaphragm looked fine. Was checking the fuel filter which you cannot really tell by looking at it but the fuel line drips gas from the carb side so I was thinking that the filter was good unless someone here thinks otherwise. I can pour a little gas in the cylinder and put the plug back on and it will run till that gas is gone then shuts off.

This leaves me unsure about the carb and the fuel filter. So I need some feed back here to see if I have over looked something or what. I cannot check compression cause I don't have a checker.

Firstup sounds like fuel delivery problem secondly when you say gas in the cylinder please I hope you mean gas/oil mix because if not you are gonna kill that saw cheers

O yea for sure. I pour some gas/oil from my chainsaw mixture. I agree it sounds like a fuel issue. Cleaning the carb I really thought would fix it. But after cleaning it well, it was the same thing. I only cleaned it the carb due to not having a kit here to take it all the way apart to rebuild and don't think I have done a rebuild on this carb ever so was unsure about taking it all the way apart without one.
Compression I think is fine because it will run and burn out fuel I put in the cylinder.

WAG try new carb kit. Sounds like check valves and pump side diaphragms could be stiff.

Just want to mention something and close this post out.
I found an old 41 which appears to be the same in every respect as the 141. So I plan on pulling that carb and seeing what happens. But I want to thank you all for your comments.
