I didnt go get it.  I really dont want a 242 either.

Have owned a 254xp before. Ones in first pics.
Yeah I forgot you're in hardwood country, not a area that had alot of 40cc saws with 14" bars cutting spruce pulpwood.
Up here in parts of Canada the little 242XP had a good run from about 1987 to when it was replaced by the 346XP in 1999.

The Finlanders and some of the  Frenchmen from northern Quebec showed us prairie farm kids how to produce with these 16,000 rpm 10 lb lasers on a 14"-16" b/c while working in small limby spruce.
The guys in the Maritimes like Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Newfoundland have stories too.
