288's are still very much missed by the guys that used to run them. Probably the most enduring loyalty of any Husky. They were a tough saw that took a fair amount of physical abuse. The first saw in that family was the 181, which I believe came out in 1982. The 288 was still being sold in the US up until 2002 and they are still being made in other parts of the world. Not a bad track record.

They "lasted" a few years more on the market here, and as you said they are still made (in Brazil, I assume).
