Ported and chain will beat the bigger saws for sure.   Most times at fairs just good chain will let you beat the bigger saws.

Had guys crying foul when my 5000 back in the day was out cutting their 660's in the 3 cut hotstart racing saws running on the ground at the local fair. Those guys had no clue about chains.
