262xp oil ratio and oct?

My wife called me and the 262xp showed up sooner than man of Stihl said. Anyways on the fuel I run Shell 91oct uncut unleaded in all my saws and Stihl Hp ultra full synthetic oil at 40:1 even in my little homey xl2. Being it is 210 lbs. of compression. Am I safe to run it? I do not want to burn it up.

It should be fine. Actually, pre-ignition is not such a problem in chainsaws as the combustion chamber is small and the engines run so fast that flame travel speed is not such an issue.

It will run cooler with your standard mix

Jason, a 262XP is a fine saw, you will really enjoy it. I'm with 40:1 should be fine. Tell us what you think of the saw after you get some time on it.

Ok. I will try it this weekend if the weather is ok. I will also let you all know how it runs when I put some time on it..
