Husqvarna 338xpt
« on: May 04, 2016, 11:28:10 am »
I have rebuilt hundreds of chainsaws. I found this saw at a pawn shop that wouldn't run. Tore it down and couldn't believe Husqvarna would design a chainsaw that the cylinder had to be removed to replace oil pump!
Problem was a scored piston but cylinder cleaned up nicely.
This 338 has a 43mm piston and all I find are 40mm.
One vendor said I had the California version?
No carb restrictors or catalyst muffler, and no tag stating "California".
Any help appreciated.

I remember those threads.  Good info.  Looked at them back when my buddy Dave 'gifted' me this little headache in a box.:D
